When it comes to personal styling, one of the main goals of a stylist is to revamp and upgrade a clients style according to the latest trends! Therefore I’m started a new blog series where I’ll be upgrading a person’s style according to trends 🙂
I had previously done a London Edition, and for this week, I will be transforming styles in the Italian fashion capital – Milan! I have created 4 different style transformations, a basic look and then an upgraded look.
PLEASE NOTE: Please know that I do not mean to degrade anyones personal style and taste in fashion! These are simply style transformations, doesn’t mean the previous look was ugly (everyone has their own opinions!!).
1. Luxury Shopping at Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II
It’s a MUST to go shopping when in Milan! Milan is not only the home of many major luxury fashion brands – Versace, Prada, Valentino, D&G, Moschino (just to name a few!), but also the home to grand shopping centers such as the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II.
In Milan many shopping centers are not completely indoors and since it’s November, Milan has gotten pretty chilly so it’s important to keep warm! In my opinion, the cutest way to look fashionable and cute while keeping yourself warm is to wear a (faux) fur coat and warm boots. With this combination its possible to wear a stylish short skirt and still feel warm!
Also, one of the hottest colors of this season is orange, why not flaunt your fashion knowledge in the fashion capital by wearing lots of orange 😉

2. Night Out at Roberto Cavalli’s Nightclub (Just Cavalli Milano)
Milan’s nightlife is truly classy and fun – especially when spending a night out at Just Cavalli, a nightclub founded by the famous Italian fashion designer – Roberto Cavalli. To enter the club and be a part of the glamorous crowd it’s important to dress your best!! Instead of just wearing any plain dress, opt to wear something luxurious such as a satin two-piece with rhinestones. Add to your bling by wearing a crystal/diamond choker and earrings! Also during the night it can get quite chilly so bringing a cute faux-fur scarf will not only add to your glam look but will also keep you warm!

3. Visiting Art & History Museums
Not only is Italy famous for it’s fashion and designers but it is also home to some of the worlds most beautiful art. All the way from back in the great renaissance period to the 21st century, museums exhibit lots of different types of art which is a must see when in Milan.
When going to visit museums and tour around a city learning about history, you’ll obviously be taking many pictures of yourself when iconic artworks! Usually these are a once-in-a-lifetime picture opportunities, so you got to dress up your best! Instead of wearing something simple and plain, wear something a little artsy and vibrant – so you can stand out in all your pictures!
Nevertheless, it’s important to not wear anything anything that can be considered disrespectful or too revealing because you may be going into religious places such as churches. You can also take along with you a jacket or scarf to cover up when you’re entering such places.
Also don’t forget to wear trendy but comfortable shoes since you’ll be doing a lot of walking!

4. Dinner and Drinks @ Bar Martini |By Dolce&Gabbana
Another designer establishment in Milan – it’s time to dress to impress!
Remember, you don’t always have to wear something over the top to look elegant and classy. Black is a color that flatters most people’s skin tones and makes you look sexy and edgy without much work – a reason why the famous little black dress is so popular! To turn this look from basic to flashy all you need to do is to put on some sparkly diamond accessories and pop on a pair of statement designer boots.
